21 Living’s Second Stockport Submission in for Mixed Resi Scheme

Altrincham-based developer, 21 Living, has submitted its second planning application in Stockport, for the £11m GDV redevelopment of Seaton House, to create 40 new apartments with flexible work space.

Following the conditional purchase of the former print mill at Wellington Street and further to submitting plans for Tiviot Dale last month, 21 Living will bring forward 40 one and two-bedroom apartments and 6,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, the redevelopment includes office accommodation within the fully refurbished original building, and a new five-storey building to the rear consisting of 40 apartments. The new building will use matching brick and roof materials, to complement the original.

All the apartments will benefit from winter gardens as well as a communal landscaped courtyard garden and terraces to ground floor apartments. The apartments will be available for sale on open market.

This scheme was identified through ‘Unlocked’, a new placemaking collective launched to solve the housing crisis by increasing density in urban centres, maintaining green belt, and bringing forward sustainable development opportunities on overlooked sites to benefit their local communities.
