137 The Rock Completes at Bury
12/03/25We are over the line at our Bury development! Officially completing at 137 The Rock, we have handed over 13 one and two-bed boutique style apartments and mews homes, providing a high-quality step-down residential facility for vulnerable young adults in the town centre.
The scheme, which was delivered in conjunction with Inclusion Housing, Northern Healthcare and Bury Council, is a period building, formerly a pub on the ground floor with storage space on the upper floors. It has been sympathetically repurposed for supported living use, to accommodate young adults with modern interior fit out that is conducive to mental health treatment and recovery.
The apartments have been designed to enable residents to have privacy and security within their individual apartments, whilst promoting social integration with access to the central communal garden.
This scheme demonstrates the successful reuse and restoration of a historic building, adding value to Bury town’s wider regeneration. The scheme also stands out for its energy efficiency and highly sustainable timber frame, which was constructed off-site. It’s a small scheme, yet space has been maximised with a communal green garden space, and its location on the doorstep to the town centre’s amenities is a great benefit.

In 2024 our development, designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, was shortlisted by the prestigious 2024 Housing Design Awards judges, in recognition of the innovative design and sustainable credentials.
